Pitch your project
Tell me what you are building. A few sentences are enough to start. Below: what a strong first message contains, what happens after you send it, and the form.
The short version
TL;DR- How
- Use the form on this page.
- What to include
- What the business does, for whom, where digital sits, and what you need.
- Length
- A few sentences. No pitch deck needed for the first message.
- Documents
- No confidential documents yet. They follow once both sides want to continue.
- What happens next
- A reply on whether a call makes sense.
- Languages
- German and English.
First message
What a strong first message contains.
Six points, each in a sentence or two. That is enough to decide whether a call makes sense.
- 1What the business doesIn plain words, without jargon.
- 2For whomThe customer, as specific as possible.
- 3Where digital sitsThe product, the sales channel, or both.
- 4Stage and numbersRevenue, cost per customer or conversion if you have them. Assumptions if not.
- 5What you needCapital, operational support or both. Roughly how much, if known.
- 6Who is on the teamWho builds it, and what is missing.

- Booking software for physiotherapy practices
1We build booking and reminder software for physiotherapy practices.
2Our customers are small practices with two to ten therapists in the DACH region.
3The product is fully online. Practices find us through Meta ads and a free no-show calculator.
4We launched eight months ago. 140 practices pay €89 per month. A new practice currently costs us about €260 to acquire.
5We are raising capital for paid acquisition and need help building a sales process for larger practices.
6Two founders, one on product and one on operations. No one in sales yet.
Fig. 1Fictional example. The company, names and numbers are invented.
The same project, written badly.
The message on the right is typical. It is friendly and short, but after reading it I know nothing that would let me decide. Every sentence claims something and none of them shows it.
The strong version above is barely longer. The difference is that every sentence answers a question I would otherwise have to ask in a call.
A weak first message
What is missing, point by point.

- Investment opportunity
Hi Jag, we are building a revolutionary platform that will change a huge market. We already have a lot of interest and a great team. Are you open to a call this week?
- ?“Revolutionary platform”: what does it actually do?
- ?“A huge market”: who exactly buys it?
- ?“A lot of interest”: which step of the evidence ladder, which numbers?
- ?“A great team”: who, and what is missing?
- ?No ask: capital, support, how much, for what?
Fig. 2Fictional. The evidence ladder explains why “a lot of interest” says little.
After you send
What happens next.
Every step ends with a clear outcome. Confidential documents only come in at the review.

Checked against the criteria
Business model, stage, region and where the digital part sits.
- 3Reply
A clear answer
Whether a call makes sense. If not, you get a clear no.
- 4First call
Getting to know each other
Model, stage, priorities and what you expect from an investor.
- 5Review
If both sides want to
Numbers, assumptions, channels and team. Documents from here on.
Fig. 3Steps 4 and 5 follow only if both sides want to continue.
How I decide
Four questions before a call.
Every enquiry goes through the same four questions. If one answer is no, you get a clear reply instead of a call that leads nowhere.
The full investment criteriaFrom enquiry to first call
Each question has a yes path down and a no path to the side.
-
1Does digital play a central role in the next stage of growth?
NoNot a fit for my experience. I say so directly.
-
2Are there founders who build it themselves?
NoCome back once the team is in place.
-
3Are numbers or testable assumptions on the table?
NoI ask for them before a call makes sense.
-
4Is there a bottleneck where my experience helps?
NoCapital alone can still fit: then it is a question of direct investment or co-investment.

This is why a few honest sentences with numbers get further than a polished deck without them.

Questions
Common questions.
Your question is not listed? Write to me via the form.
Does the business have to be fully digital?
No. Physical products and offline businesses are fine, as long as digital channels are central to the next stage of growth.
Do you only invest in the DACH region?
The DACH region is the focus. Good international deals are welcome too.
Can I reach out with an early idea?
Yes. Describe the problem, the customer, the digital part and why you are the right person to build it.
Do I need a pitch deck?
Not for the first message. A few sentences are enough. A deck helps later, in the review.
What ticket size?
That depends on the business, its stage and my role. There is no fixed ticket.
Do you only bring capital, or do you get involved?
Depending on what we agree, both. In partnerships I work actively on customer acquisition, funnels and sales. In direct investments I act more as a sparring partner.
I only need operational support. Can I still write?
Yes. Choose “Operational support” in the form and describe what you need. Whether and how we work together depends on the business and the setup.
Is co-investing possible?
Yes. Choose “Co-investment” in the form and briefly describe the kind of deal.
Can you share references?
Yes, in a one-to-one call. Selected references and documents are available on request.
Can I call you directly?
The form is the fastest way. If a call makes sense, we arrange it after the first reply.
Which language should I write in?
German or English, whichever is easier for you.
How is my enquiry handled?
Your details are only used to reply to your enquiry. Still, keep the first message high-level and send confidential documents only after the first call.
